FAQs for BAI2008 Conference
1. SUBMISSION, REVIEW AND NOTIFICATION
(FAQ101)What kind of time table are we looking at? After the deadline of 31 Jan, when will we expect to hear from the review committee? Are we going to hear the final results from the committee before 31 March, the due date for the registration?
Notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent out at the end of February or at the beginning of March.
(FAQ102)Who will review the papers for this conference? Will they be reviewed by peers around the world, or just a small committee or track chair?
Due to the tight schedule, each paper will be blind reviewed by two members of BAI2008 organizing committee.
(FAQ103) Will theoretical papers be welcome as well? Or will empirical papers be given priority?
Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome.
2. REGISTRATION

(FAQ201 revised) I wish to submit two papers to your esteemed conference, one is single authored and another is co-authored (I will be doing the submission and will also be the contact person). My question is what will be the fee structure in this case?
No matter you are a single author, main author, or co-author, if you would like to participate in the conference you need to pay registration fee US$300 before March 31, 2008 or US$350 after March 31, 2008 to register your papers, two at most. However, if other authors would like to participate in the conference as well, please do the registration and pay the registration fee separately. Every registered author can get one set of conference package, which covers all conference sessions, four coffee breaks, one year (four issues) Contemporary Management Research (CMR), and a copy of conference proceedings in CD-ROM format.
(FAQ202 revised) I wish to submit three papers to your esteemed conference, two are single authored and one is co-authored. My question is what will be the fee structure in this case? Should I pay US$ 300 or will it be US$ 600. Should they be considered as three separate submissions by separate authors?
No matter you are a single author, main author, or co-author, if you would like to participate in the conference you need to pay registration fee US$300 before March 31, 2008 or US$350 after March 31, 2008 to register your papers, two at most. Therefore, if you have three papers, you can register two papers and invite another author to register the remaining one. However, please do the registration and pay the registration fee separately. Every registered author can get one set of conference package, which covers all conference sessions, four coffee breaks, one year (four issues) Contemporary Management Research (CMR), and a copy of conference proceedings in CD-ROM format.
The register fee would be US$ 600 (300 plus 300 for two authors) if registration before March 31, 2008 and US$700 (350 plus 350 for two authors) after March 31, 2008. In this case, the first two papers should be registered by one author and the last one by the other author. That is, you need to register two participants and will get two conference supplement (proceedings in CD-ROM, and one-year hardcopies journal named Contemporary Management Research via mail).
(FAQ203)What is the mode of sending the registration fee?
Two methods are available for your registration payment:
(1) Telegraphic Transfer (T.T.), transfer money by bank;
(2) Paypal Online Credit Card Payment (C.C.).

(FAQ204) US $ 300 covers conference sessions 4 coffee breaks and a copy of conference proceedings in CD ROM. So, will the CD ROM be given to us in advance or on the spot?
CD ROM will be available on the conference site.
(FAQ205) I am an author of a submitted paper to the BAI2008. Can I participate in the conference without oral presentation?
Yes, when you fill out your registration information, please choose the radio button of Poster Session/ No Oral Presentation Session. However, the registration fee is the same, US$300 per person if you register before March 31, 2008 and US$350 after March 31, 2006.
(FAQ206) I did not submit any papers to the conference. Can I still participate in the conference?
Yes, when you fill out your registration information, please leave the Paper ID blank and the registration fee is US$300 if you register before March 31, 2008 and US$350 after March 31, 2008.
(FAQ207) Could you give some subsidy, financial sponsor or registration fee discount?
Our policy is that all conference participants, including conference chairs, program chairs, and all conference committee members, have to pay the registration fee. Registration fee is the main income of BAI conference to cover all conference cost. As you know, it is expensive to hold an international conference in hotel of five stars ranking. The cost increase when the conference the number of participants increases.
(FAQ208) I intend to publish only the abstract. In that case how much should I pay?
Our policy is that all conference participants have to pay the registration fee. The registration fee is the same for author publishing abstract or full paper in the proceedings (CD-ROM).
3. FINAL SUBMISSION AND PROCEEDINGS
(FAQ301) The acceptance letter stat that I have to send the final version of my paper. Why do I need to do that? I have already sent my full paper when I submit my manuscript.
The proceedings will b based on by the paper you submit in the final submission rather than the manuscript you first submitted. It is the last opportunity to modify your manuscript. After final submission, your manuscript for BAI2008 proceedings can no longer be changed. You can choose to publish either abstract or full paper in proceedings.
If authors do not submit their final version of their manuscripts, the first submission manuscripts will be used for the conference proceedings. That is, March 31, 2008 is the last date to update or revise the manuscripts. After that, conference proceedings will be finalized.
(FAQ302) If I send you a full paper, can I just get the abstract published if it's accepted? Or if a full paper is sent to you and accepted, the full paper has to be included in the proceedings? And if I just want to get an abstract published, can I just submit an abstract? Please clarify it.
It is the authors' choice to publish either the full paper(s) or abstract(s) in the proceedings. Some authors hope to participant in BAI2008 but do not want their full papers to appear in BAI2008 proceedings. In this case, these authors may choose to publish their abstract only in BAI2008 proceedings. To sum up, you can publish abstract or full paper in proceedings. What you upload in "final submission" is what you get published in proceedings.
(FAQ303)Will each accepted paper be published in full, or will some only be published in abstract form?
It is authors' right to decide to publish the full paper(s) or abstract(s) in the BAI proceedings (CD-ROM). What you upload in "final submission" is what you get published in proceedings.
(FAQ304) I'd like to know if an abstract or the full paper should be submitted. If both are acceptable, may I know the required length of the abstract?
Both abstract and the full paper are acceptable for submission. Please provide one to two pages extended abstract if you choose to submit abstract rather than full paper.
(FAQ305) What is the maximum length of the manuscript for this conference?
There is no limitation for the length of manuscript for the conference proceedings in CD-ROM.
(FAQ306) I am planning to publish the abstract in the conference proceedings. Is there any format requirement for the abstract?
Please follow the format of full paper. But the max length is one to two pages for abstract.
(FAQ307) What is the format that my manuscript should follow?
Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word. The conference follows the format of Academy of Management Journal. This format is available at the AMJ's website http://aom.pace.edu/amjnew/style_guide.html. Guidelines and sample pages are available at http://bai2007.atisr.org/Format.doc. In general, the paper must be prepared the way you want it to appear in the proceedings.
Please follow the sample pages in BAI2008 website, in case there is any conflict between the format of BAI2008 and that of AMJ.
(FAQ308) Meaning of Camera Ready Paper.
The manuscript that you choose to publish in proceedings is called Camera Ready, since we do not make any modification on it. You must follow the format available at the BAI2008 website to prepare your manuscript to be Camera Ready.
(FAQ309)Can we change the author priority and contact address after submission.
Yes, you can change the author priority when you make your final submission (Camera Ready Paper).
4. PROGRAM
(FAQ401) Please give me the program/schedule (date and time for the presentation)
The preliminary program/schedule/agenda will be available around May 10 and finalized program/schedule/agenda will be available at the website around the end of May.
(FAQ402) I am an author of a submitted paper to the BAI2006. Can I participate in the conference without oral presentation?

5. VISA, TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATION
(FAQ501) Could you help me to apply visa to Seoul, South Korea?
We could not apply any visa for any participant.
(FAQ502) Could you provide any document for me to apply visa to Seoul, South Korea?
The only thing we could provide is the acceptance letter of the conference paper. No other document will be provided.
(FAQ503) Do I need to apply VISA when visiting Seoul, South Korea?
It depends on your nationality. Please consult your travel agent for more details.
6. PRESENTATION AND OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
(FAQ601) Duration of Presentation
In average, the presentation and discussion time for each paper will be 13-14 minutes. However, presentation time may be shortened if more papers are arranged in one session and extended if some authors are absent.
(FAQ602) I see the official language of BAI2008 is English. My thesis is written in Chinese. May I submit my paper to your conference in Chinese?
The official language of "International Conference on Business and Information (BAI2008)" is English. All presentations, including articles and oral presentations, should be in English. Some workshops, small group discussions, or small group meetings may be in other languages. However, all paper submissions must be in English.
7. JOURNAL PUBLICATION
(FAQ701) I can see that the journal edition published after this conference will have an ISSN number. Will it be published on the web or in hard copy only? If in hard copy, will it be available for sale to all the public, or only to those who attended the conference?
Those journals, both IJBI and CMR, will be published in hardcopy. They are available for sale. The annual subscription rate for CMR is US$200.00 for institutions and US$150.00 for individuals, which includes airmail postage for all destinations. The subscription rate of IJBI will be announced soon. All BAI conference registered participants will receive one-year CMR.
(FAQ702) I am planning to publish the abstract in the conference proceedings and the full paper in CMR. So I need to email you both abstract and the full paper by March 31. Is my understanding correct?
No.
You need to follow the CMR submission procedure to submit your manuscript(s) to CMR. You should include the paper ID of BAI2008 conference when submission. You can submission the manuscript at anytime you want. Some participants prefer to submit after the conference. Some prefer to submit it before the conference. It's up to you. March 31 is the deadline for BAI2006 rather than CMR.
If you prefer to submit your manuscript to CMR special issue before the conference date, May 31 is the deadline. If you hope to submit your manuscript to CMR special issue after the conference, August 31 is the deadline. More details about CMR are available at http://cmr.atisr.org .
(FAQ703) I know that the publications of CMR and IJBI are in hard copy, so will both authors receive one-year hard copies of the journal as charges are included in the registration fees?
All registered participants will receive one-year (four issues) CMR. However, IJBI is not free for BAI participants.
(FAQ704) Will we get the hard copy of CMR journal during BAI2008 or it will be courier to us later?
CMR journal will be sent to you via mail.
9. OTHERS
(FAQ901)Is there any kind of concessions which can be assisted for presenting a paper on BAI2008 (traveling, boarding and lodging expenses) or should I treat the details on the site as finalized ones.
BAI 2008 will not provide any financial subsidy for BAI participants.
We have no budget to do that.
(FAQ902)Will we get the individual certificate for paper presentation for BAI2008?
We could provide it upon request.
